After taking office in January of 2012, I immediately started plans to add a K-9 unit to the force. With the more than generous help of the people of Calhoun County, we were able to achieve our goal within just a few months.
Our K-9 Rooster was purchased in Kentucky. He is a dual purpose working K9 in narcotics and tracking.
Our K9 Aquiles recently was given a bulletproof vest at no charge to our agency. An organization called Vested Interest in K9s, Inc raises money each year to provide the vests to working k9s in the field. You can learn more about this great program at www.vik9s.org. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to this organization for an awesome job!!!
